The Star | I tried a hair serum and it (actually) changed my life

GLOSS.ME CANNABIS SATIVA SEED OIL HAIR SERUM

Look, I’m not exactly low-maintenance. I mask several times a week and devote a huge portion of my morning routine to curling my lashes and painting my lids with fun colours. But my hair is a whole different story. On the best of days, I’ll (try to) smooth it down with a flat iron and cross my fingers it doesn’t puff up by noon. Got to love that spring rain! Put it this way, beanies and berets are often my go-to “hair products.”

But all of that changed recently when I met this serum. Its star ingredient is cannabis sativa oil. Now I know what you’re thinking — marketing gimmick dot com — but I swear it works! It’s loaded with nourishing fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E, and gets an additional hydrating punch courtesy of rice bran, argan and moringa seed oils. The packaging is adorable and would look right at home on any well-curated vanity. But the cherry on top? It’s free of parabens and sulphates and is completely vegan.

Now back to those benefits. The formula, in all of its THC-free glory, tames frizz and boosts shine without adding any weight or greasiness. I like to run some through my damp hair to prep for the breeziest blow-drys of my life — no more fighting the pouf! For good measure, I rub a few more drops on my ends after styling and marvel at how soft and silky my hair is. It’s crazy to me that something that was once a chore now actually feels enjoyable. A manageable mane? Moi? I’m downright giddy!
